This document summarizes the activities from 1990 to 1998 of the old Institute of Biophysics and from 1999 until 2004 of the Division of Biophysics of the Department of Biophysical, Medical and Odontostomatological Sciences and Technologies (Di.S.T.BI.M.O.) resulting from the merging of Biophysics with numerous other sectors of Medicine, both structures directed by myself since their foundation at the University of Genova.
Such wide research interests and different teaching and clinical activities of our Faculty constitute a precious bonus because they foster scientific interaction and cultural exchange.
The research activity of the Eminent Biophysics Chair from 2004 until 2010 was carried out entirely in the Nanoworld Institute (from 2010 until now in Bergamo) - C.I.R.N.N.O.B. The results obtained in terms of publications in international refereed journals (Science Citation Index), national and international patents (World Patent Index), number of personnel associated with the eminent biophysics chair over the years and amount of externally acquired grants and contracts (private and public industry, Council for National Research, Ministry of University and Scientific and Technological Research, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union, ENEA, etc) point to the high standard achieved by the Biophysics Chair and the
Nanoworld Institute (from 2010 until now in Bergamo) - C.I.R.N.N.O.B. in a wide spectrum of fundamental, applied and clinical fields in the full range of biomedical sciences and technologies. This compendium of activities pays the due gratitude to all personnel listed, even if to the varying degree linked to their individual  dedication and contribution. In the last period of my association with Genova, from 2010 until November first 2012 the eminent Chair of Biophysics was moved to the Department of Experimental Medicine of the University of Genova along with the two laboratories, respectively of Biophysics Directed by myself and of Nanobiotechnology directed by Prof. Evgeniya Peshkova. Today, having succefully complete all my research grant (the last being FIRB Italnanonet from Italian Government) and doctoral programs, one national in Biophysics since 1989 and one international in Nanobiotechnology since 2006 with Marburg University (with over 50 Candidates acquiring successfully the PhD, the last ones in Marburg on January 17 2014), I pass the hand entirely to Prof. Pechkova as Director of Laboratory of Biophysics and Nanobiotechnology mantaining my connections and loyalty to this laboratory created by my efforts over the last 23 years.
