The
details of the International Doctorate School of NANOSCIENCE
AND NANOTECNOLOGY is outlined below:
- Born by cooperation agreement between University of Genoa and
Phillips University of Marburg
- The administrative headquarters is the University of
Genoa
- The length of the doctoral program is three years.
- The official language is English
The aim of the INTERNATIONAL DOCTORAL is the production of
researchers, both at PhD-candidate and post-Ph.D. level, with skills
to operate in the international arena, displaying outstanding
competence in nanoscience and nanotechnology in four different
sectors: Industries, Health Organisations, Public and Private
Research Organizations, Universities.
Even though the research involves a single, common
interdisciplinary scientific topic, Nanotechnology and
Nanoscience,
the aim is to address the requirements of the four
professional areas mentioned above.
The researcher’s activity must be original,
possibly having an impact on the world of Industry and Services,
and
his/her individual contribution must be
clearly identifiable. The doctoral and post-doctoral
students
will carry out part of their research abroad, within public or
private institutions with whom agreements have been made. The
educational activity of the School is specifically aimed at
research and, to this aim, specialized seminars, whose contents
will be related to the
scientific areas mentioned above, will be arranged.
